Design, Matter and Modernity
From Modern to Contemporary Mexican Design
A journey exploring how contemporary Mexican design transforms materials, furniture, and spaces while creating new dialogues with the legacy of modernism.
We’ll begin at the Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, exploring different approaches to contemporary design through recycled materials, experimentation, and furniture created specifically for the museum.
We’ll then walk to the Casa Estudio Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, where we’ll discover the restoration of its original furniture before closing with an architectural tour exploring how art, design, and everyday life came together in one of the defining projects of Mexican modernism.
