Barragán: Monumentality, Water, and Landscape
This experience takes us to the north of Mexico City to explore some of Luis Barragán’s most iconic and lesser-known projects. We begin at the Torres de Satélite, monumental sculptures co-designed with Mathias Goeritz that mark the entrance to the modernist dream of Ciudad Satélite.
We then continue to Cuadra San Cristóbal, one of Barragán’s masterpieces, where architecture, landscape, and equestrian design come together in a poetic, almost cinematic composition.
The tour concludes with a stop at Los Bebederos in Las Arboledas, a sculptural and functional watering trough designed for horses, once again blending color, form, and function in Barragán’s unmistakable style. This journey reveals how Barragán envisioned suburban spaces not only as residential developments, but as opportunities for art, nature, and modern life to coexist.
